The yellowing
of our faces
nearly browns
us away.

Perhaps
when the purples
of mistrust
have faded

our hues
will have softened
in the pinkening
of recovery.

The power in this poem, for me, is how you made me think of the qualities of peridot, amber and culminating in pink quartz, symbol of love. Very nice, Brian..:)

Possibilities:
yellow = cowardice & deceit
brown = stimulates appetite
pink = passion & action
